Well that’s actually not what feminism is so how about a little lesson.

Feminism is undertaking love of oneself and to respect oneself as though life depends upon self-love and self-respect. If you look up the definition of feminism, it is: the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes. It has nothing to do with men bashing, being anti-pornographic, etc.

People get so caught up in their own definitions that they often lose sight of the fact that feminism is about equal rights. That’s all it is. It has nothing to do with a man opening a door for you. It’s more about saying “you don’t HAVE to open the door for a women just because you are a man”. It’s about having the right to open the door for another human being regardless of the organ between your legs.

To me, feminism is about:

being able to be a mother and have a corporate, demanding job without being labeled a bad mother.
Or for a man to be able to be a stay-at-home dad without being or feeling emasculated or ridiculed.
Or for a women with a college degree to quit her successful career so she can be a stay-at-home mother.

Feminism is about being able to do what is right for the individual without pressure from economic, political, and social factors to do otherwise based on gender stereotypes.

In a way, feminism is just as much about fighting for men’s right not to be pigeon-holed into gender stereotypes, although the majority of people don’t realize that men are often oppressed as well (just in different ways compared to women).
